Sri Lanka and West Indies have postponed the ODI series due to poor weather. The cricket boards of Sri Lanka and West Indies have postponed the one-day international series due to poor weather, less than 24 hours before the first match was scheduled to get under way in Hambantota. The five-match series was due to start with the day-night fixture tomorrow at Sri Lanka's newest venue, where both teams have been in place for the last three days without being able to undertake any practice sessions. The boards of the two sides are now believed to be considering a three-match series in late January. "West Indies-Sri Lanka one-day international series has been postponed due to the prevailing weather condition," a statement from Sri Lanka Cricket read. The first two matches were due to be held at Hambantota while Colombo was to host the remaining three games before the tour was to be rounded off with a Twenty20 international at the same venue. The Windies' tour of the island has been marred by incessant rain and inclement weather, which partially contributed to a 0-0 stalemate in the recent three-Test series.

i think they want to play as more as possible as this is their last series before WC to settle their squads.

Sad that SL and WI have to lose such valuable match practice before the World cup because of rain... I personally think NZ shud cancel the Pak tour and host SL/WI. I dont understsand why they want to host a team that has erupted with a controversy in every single recent tour.

Sad for the SL players, they wont have recent performances to back them when the IPL auctions gets underway.

I am happy if all of them misses IPL. Adds nothing to SL cricket other than adding money to players pockets. SLC should tax 25% of player salaries in exchange for creating an IPL window in the FTP for them.
