But he is tipping Ricky Ponting's defending champions to reach the semi-finals of the six-week tournament, which begins on Saturday in India, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh. Krejza is the only frontline spinner in the world No. 1-ranked Australian squad of 15, with Ponting likely to call upon part-time slow bowlers David Hussey and Steve Smith throughout the tournament. ''Lack of a quality spin bowler is sure to hurt them at some stage,'' Ganguly said. ''Jason Krejza is a decent bowler but against quality players of spin bowling, he may struggle. ''Their attack lacks balance. Also after the warm-up game against India (in which Australia were bowled out for 176 to lose by 38 runs), questions have to be asked about their ability to handle top-class spinners.'' Australia will play six group matches, beginning with a match against Zimbabwe in Ahmedabad on February 21.
