criczero Posted February 16, 2011 Posted February 16, 2011 The options are: 1. OZ newspaper crying about dead indian pitches 2. Eng newspaper, after their teams exit, publishing some interview from a pre 1950 era player about the ashes. 3. Dhoni's photo along with some rotten eggs and tomatoes 4. Debris of Afridi's house
Raghav_12 Posted February 16, 2011 Posted February 16, 2011 None of these. I think best selling item after this WC would be news that half of Pakistan team has been life-banned and remaining half have declared their retirement from ODI's or all form of cricket. Of-course all of these retirements and life-bans will not last more than couple of months. At times, I wonder if there is a race btw Pak cricket administrtors and players where administrators try to life-ban players before they could declare their retirement (from all form of cricket). Similarly players try to declare their retirement before they can be life-banned. Winners in these races are mutually exclusive, as you can't retire from a cricket if you are life-banned already or you can not life-ban a player who is already retired.
Ultimate_Game Posted February 16, 2011 Posted February 16, 2011 I think you missed the main story... "SA choke again" :haha: somehow have a feeling that Pakistan will surprize SA in the quartrers. If the form guide holds good SA should finish at 2 in our group (India getting the top spot) and Pak would be 3rd in theirs (Aus and SL the top 2 spots). This would mean a tricky Q/F for SA against Pak in B'desh where the pitch would be spin friendly and I can definitely see Pakistan putting it over the saffers with their spin based attack consisting of Afridi, Ajmal, Hafeez and Rehman (I'm really impressed by Rehman and he should definitely play against teams who don't play spin well such as Aussies, English or Saffers)

Desi Cartman Posted February 17, 2011 Posted February 17, 2011 Out of 8 quater finalists only 1 team will win & other 7 will choke at one level or another :dontknow:

I too feels the same that this may be SA's time, will take hell of a effort though for them to win in subcontinent, but they have the quality and skill, though spin department may lack few things
gaurav92 Posted February 17, 2011 Posted February 17, 2011 Out of 8 quater finalists only 1 team will win & other 7 will choke at one level or another :dontknow: ++ Lot has been made of SAF choke, we don't need too many posts from that Jibran Dude, so lets chuck it off here, no moar Saf Choke bashing.
Dinx - the Jinx Posted February 17, 2011 Posted February 17, 2011 I too feels the same that this may be SA's time' date=' will take hell of a effort though for them to win in subcontinent, but they have the quality and skill, though spin department may lack few things[/quote'] this is possible only if they face NZ/Aus in QF, Eng/Aus in SF Eng/Aus in F I'm sure they will be knocked out if they come across any of India, srilanka or even pakistan in any of these matches. if u r a SAffrican fan, start praying that they dont get to face any asian team during knockouts
criczero Posted February 17, 2011 Author Posted February 17, 2011 I just wanted to compare the attitudes of the masses and media in these countries in case of their team's bad performance. I remember during the 2nd World T20, Eng made an early exit, and their media started printing interviews of some 100+ years old persons about the ashes, ignoring the ongoing tournament altogether. And who can forget the "cool treatment", team India and Pak got after 2007 WC :-)
