ganeshran Posted March 5, 2011 Posted March 5, 2011 Afridi's balls bowled per game is around 40, which means 6 odd overs per game, so he takes himself out of the attack if he's tonked around. He is someone who feeds out of his success and gets dejected at his failures equally fast. 2 quick wickets and he looks world class, 2 boundaries in the first over and he is loses his rhythm and looks ordinary. Bhajji bowls 52 balls per game, so he completes nearly his full quota regardless of whether he takes wickets or gets hit around. Still he has better stats overall than Afridi. So if the topic of discussion is this world cup alone then yes Afridi > Bhajji, but if you are discussing their whole careers, then Bhajji > Afridi

So if the topic of discussion is this world cup alone then yes Afridi > Bhajji, but if you are discussing their whole careers, then Bhajji > Afridi Do you know why this is such a genius observation? Firstly early career afridi was played more as a batsmen then a bowler with such bowlers as saqi, akram, waqar, akhtar razzaq, mushy Afridi was used as a part time bowler therefore his average will be less. Secondly it is not always possible to deliver your full quota every match what happens if the opposition is bowled out by over 20? Also last 5 years on average Afridi has bowled more overs then bhaji on average. why last 5? because afridi has started taking his bowling more serious now
pakexpress Posted March 6, 2011 Posted March 6, 2011 bhaji 9 overs 29 for 0 in todays' match against ireland.. enough said..
Superman Posted March 6, 2011 Posted March 6, 2011 bhaji 9 overs 29 for 0 in todays' match against ireland.. enough said.. Typical Rubbish wicketless bowling from him again.

Superman Posted March 6, 2011 Posted March 6, 2011 Compare apples to apples and not oranges. I am talking about ppl having orgasm over afridis performance in this worldcup. Look at where bhajji is bowling...on roads in India where even Ireland is scoring 330ish..look where afretard is bowling...yes the spin paradise of srilanka...then look at the teams he is bowlign against kenya, canada...hahahah only srilanka was decent. I rest my case. Today on a spin paradise Harbjhan :fail: :hysterical:

Utalk Posted March 6, 2011 Posted March 6, 2011 Afirdi has been nothing short of sensational in this WC. On current form it can be said that Afridi is slightly ahead of Bhajji. But when we look at the bigger picture and take their entire carriers into consideration Bhajji is way ahead of Afridi. Best post on this subject.
Superman Posted March 7, 2011 Posted March 7, 2011 All Harbhajan's fans are disappeared, which shows Afridi is the best.:two_thumbs_up:
DomainK Posted March 7, 2011 Posted March 7, 2011 One odd bad match. No big deal. Could happen to the best. Wait for the big matches and see how a champion is made of. :two_thumbs_up:
pinkfreud Posted March 7, 2011 Posted March 7, 2011 now a days Harbhajan is only waste of sapce. Midcore' date='[/quote'] Afridi has performed well in the WC, but Harbhajan is an out and out spinner with many years of bowling under his belt. Comparing Afridi's spin bowling stats over just a few years with Bhajji's stats well over a decade only throws light on your shoddy ability to view things objectively.
pinkfreud Posted March 7, 2011 Posted March 7, 2011 Afridi has shown all people here in the forum that he is the best.:two_thumbs_up: Why? Because he scalped Kenyan, Canadian, and Sri Lankan wickets (with no Malinga in their squad back then) in this WC? No one here is interested in one-off shows. Stats are something that depend on long haul playing. You can't possibly compare Afridi and Bhajji because Afridi is more of a batsman and Bhajji was a specialist bowler till his batting ability came to the fore. Where's the common sense in this thread? If you want to laud Afridi and slag off India, then you should do so on a Pakistani forum. Doing the same here won't go down well just because Indian forumers are more accepting of opposing views than Pak forums, where India bashing seems to be a favourite pastime.
ghost Posted March 7, 2011 Posted March 7, 2011 Today on a spin paradise Harbjhan :fail: :hysterical: Forced to agree with you. where are the likes of Tahir/peterson/Swann playing? are they also playing their matchesi n SL? :haha::haha::haha: Touche' ! Nice one ! One odd bad match. No big deal. Could happen to the best. Wait for the big matches and see how a champion is made of. :two_thumbs_up: Actually, its the last THREE matches ! What's more worrying is not that he isn't getting many wickets but the FACT that he looks quite mediocre and never looks as if he will get wickets ! Afridi has performed well in the WC' date=' but Harbhajan is an out and out spinner with many years of bowling under his belt. Comparing Afridi's spin bowling stats over just a few years with Bhajji's stats well over a decade only throws light on your shoddy ability to view things objectively.[/quote'] Chill yaar, no doubt Bhajji is/was a great bowler, but we are talking about the WC here and no one is really interested in History lessons or Bhajji's biography ! Anyway, I agree with you that he's at least better than that loser Chawla:omg: btw, anyone know if Dhoni is still plumping for Piyush-gawd-help-us Chawla for the future matches ? Really worried whether Dhoni is stubborn enough to persist with Chawla :nervous:

Really worried whether Dhoni is stubborn enough to persist with Chawla :nervous: What are we interested in then? Wicket hauls against teams like Canada and Kenya in this WC? :asleep: Yuvraj was also in pathetic form but he seems to be coming to the fore at least when it matters. True, Bhajji has been disappointing so far but since he did curb many runs yesterday, let's hope he comes back into his groove just like Yuvraj did yesterday. As for the Chawla situation... I fear Dhoni has got some obsession with him just because he's the only leggie in our squad... I'm sure critics would definitely be jumping down his throat after Chawla's performance yesterday and egging him to give Ashwin a chance at least in the Netherlands match. It's high time Dhoni mixed it up a bit, our team is becoming very predictable now.
vaibhav_delhi Posted March 7, 2011 Posted March 7, 2011 the sad thing for our paki friends is that even after Afridi took all those wickets against minnows' date=' he STILL averages higher than harbhajan singh in ODIs...:(([/quote'] And in test cricket, Bhajji has taken nearly 8 times the wickets tht afridi has, at a better average.
Superman Posted March 7, 2011 Posted March 7, 2011 And in test cricket' date=' Bhajji has taken nearly 8 times the wickets tht afridi has, at a better average.[/quote'] Afridi did not play test at all so you can not compare them in the test, but still Afridi has better strike Rate.....:hysterical::hysterical:
