India Vs WI predict the result I will take the first shot, If batting first india wins by 50 runs atleast, If bowling India wins by 4 wkts. Only thing that bothers me is I dont understand WI team well, should India go with 3 pace + 1 spin or 2 pace + 2spin? Final input Ashwin In - Dont know who goes out Pathan Out - Raina In Virat Kohli is a must in the team. There is no reason Inida will not win if fielding is tight.

Ind vs WI - Raina, Pollard men to watch out for ????? i think , raina and pollard wil b the most important and fancied players for their respective teams. Both the players have the uncanny ability to clear the rope at will. It will b pretty interesting to c how raina tackles kemar roach, who is firing on all cylinders rite now. Also, till now pollard had been scoring against small teams. his big hitting ability will b tested fully against india.

yusuf should be benched raina should come into the squad i have a feeling sewag is fit to bowl but dhoni has avoided him because he does not want him to get injured early if sehwag starts to bowl from the knockout stages then india will have a balanced squad :yay:

Seeing Dhoni's current form do you really think he can do the job that Kohli does??
He probably will because he's always been more at ease when he's up the order. So far, Dhoni has been playing the role of a stabilizer- which is what Kohli does too. Dhoni seems out of place down there because those spots are for finishers/sloggers rather than accumulators. We shouldn't rule out the possibility of Dhoni possibly performing better if he pushes himself higher in the batting line up. He's been very careful with his batting so far, so I don't see why we can't consider Dhoni as an anchor as well.

Players practice and fans wait for Team India to hit top gear More.. Fans wait for India to hit top gear Atreyo Mukhopadhyay, Hindustan Times Chennai, March 16, 2011 The normally serene IIT campus here wore a busy look on Wednesday morning. There was hustle and bustle, busy faces here and there and why not? The Indian cricket stars were about to descend there for practice, with the MA Chidambaram Stadium being occupied by England and the West Indies ahead of Thur sday's match. Students, outsiders, policemen, the media and those who hang around that place were out in full strength, close to about a thousand. The wait for them under an increasingly tortuous sun was made longer by the Indian team. The players arrived at around 11.30 am, a good one hour behind schedule. Rapturous reception They were given a rousing welcome by the waiting fans. This led one to wonder if this is what they get coming off a defeat, how well the crowd would react if they do better. But this being India and the fans being happy to catch a glimpse of their stars from a distance, the rapturous reception isn't as a surprise. The arrival of the players didn't match the cheers. Just seven of them — Yuvraj Singh, Virat Kohli, Suresh Raina, Yusuf Pathan, Munaf Patel, Piyush Chawla and R Ashwin — turned up. It was learnt this was an optional training session. After three days of total rest, this leaves the team with three more days to get ready for Sunday's game against the West Indies. No warm-up It's common to see the players do some stretching and warming up as starters. The Indians, however, didn't do anything of that sort. They disappeared into the dressing room, and after coming out headed straight for batting and bowling. They were batting in pairs against pace and spin with Kohli and Raina going in first, followed by Yuvraj and Pathan, and then Chawla and Ashwin. Yuvraj did some knocking against throw downs coach Gary Kirsten and his deputy Paddy Upton after the local bowlers got tired. Raina followed him, and only time will tell whether this was an indication of him getting a place in the playing eleven. Star tantrums Members of the local organising committee, who look after the teams' activities before and during matches in Chennai, were displeased with the ways of the Indian team. They cancelled Tuesday's training session in the eleventh hour after elaborate security arrangements had been made, and then came late on Wednesday. "This is the most disgusting lot," said a senior local organising committee member, preferring anonymity. "The Indians just don't follow any routine and don't even inform the people concerned about their plans. Other teams are so different." But then one has to accept a few things while dealing with superstars.

Its not about the practice session..It is about responsibility to inform the concerned people if they do not want to do a practice session..I pity the students(fans) and everyone else that waited that day.. I cant believe you guys are supporting this attitude...:(

Team India mulls over pace partner for Zaheer Link NEW DELHI: With off-spinner R Ashwin almost certain to make his World Cup debut against the West Indies on Sunday, the Indian team management is now sweating it out to decide who will share the new ball with Zaheer Khan as the second pacer in the playing XI. According to sources, Team India is divided between Munaf Patel and Ashish Nehra. If some members of the team are banking on Munaf's recent form, the others are backing Nehra for his wealth of experience. Sources said that the final call on this is yet to be taken, but Nehra enjoys considerable backing of some of the top players in the team. Will this translate into Nehra getting the nod for the West Indies match? But this is of great significance for Nehra, especially at a time when the Delhi pacer is been getting a lot of flak for conceding 13 runs in the last over against South Africa on last Saturday. While Munaf has taken nine wickets in the World Cup so far, Nehra has claimed four from two outings in the tournament. "It's a tough call for the team management for sure. Clearly, Munaf is bowling well but Nehra is backed by the seniors despite that last over against South Africa," another team insider told TOI. Backing someone in a crisis is heartening, especially for a team whose bowling attack lacks consistency. But for former Indian medium-pacer Manoj Prabhakar, Nehra does not look the right option. "If one has to pick either of the two, I would bat for Munaf. Nehra is not looking confident as a bowler right now," Prabhakar, who coached the Delhi Ranji team this season for which Nehra plays, feels. Agreed another former medium-pacer Roger Binny. "Going by the current form, Munaf has the upper hand. Ideally, Nehra would have been the first pick, but of late he has struggled with injuries and hasn't played regular competitive cricket for the last two months. So, it's showing in his bowling performance. You need at least two or three matches under your belt to get your rhythm right," Binny said.
