Ashish Nehra suffered a finger Injury and Gambhir pulled his hamstring ahead of the mega finals of World cup 2011. As a back-up plan BCCI - Board of Control for Cricket in India have decided to recall two of its legendary players in Indian World cup squad. Speaking to press after taking few decent English lessons for an hour BCCI Vice-President for West Zone Niranjan Shah said “First they (Sri Lanka) call Vaas and randiv so BCCI call Kapil and Gavaskar. We not allow them this.†:cantstop: After looking at confused reporters Honorary Secretary Mr. N. Srinivasan (We were strictly told to use the word Honorary or be prepared to ban from entering any future press conferences) explained what his colleague meant to say “Even our team is plagued with injuries and so we decided to find proper replacements. We found none ready out of 30 probable List so we decided to put some experience in this young team.†Indian Chief Selector K Srikkanth who was present for the press briefing quoted “There were lot of names which came to our mind, like Ganguly and Dravid but we thought we should draft those players in team who have experience of playing and WINNING world cup finals. Also Ganguly is yet to sort his IPL issues; he is a busy man calling all team owners so we thought not to disturb him.â€:giggle: It was also herd that after hearing the news of BCCI giving chances to ex-players, Vinod Kambli and Ex-Pakistan Player Shoaib Mallik too tried his luck with the selection committee. Confirming the above developments Srikkanth said “Yes Vinod did call me yesterday nite, I told him ‘sach ka saamna kay ley vinod’. You don’t have what we are looking for. And if we take you, you first think tu Sachin ka saamna kaisey karega. Shoaib tried to convince me how much he loves India and want to play cricket but we made him clear he will have to start from Ranji if he has to play for India some day!!†We reached out to Kapil Dev and Sunny Gavaskar who were busy practicing at nets sweating out to gain some fitness to play 100 overs. Kapil was way too overjoyed at his selection “I would say this is dream comeback. Infact master of all comebacks. I Knew this was coming this is why I was saying don’t say ‘we want to win this world cup for sachin’ I kept on giving hints but none took my name. Now its time for me to repeat my 83 heroics and show who is bigger match winner.†Gavaskar though was not completely pleased. “I tried my best for Rohan. But BCCI said they want to WIN the cup. Watson87 Posted April 1, 2011 Posted April 1, 2011 Hope Gavaskar doesn't fail us like last time, the guy is pathetic, I read about his innings 180 ball 30 or something, I want Gavaskar to be dropped after the final. Kapil has a bright future he should continue, the kid has a lot of venom in him.
