J P K
After a disastrous World Cup that saw their batting collapse repeatedly through the course of the tournament, Bangladesh cricket want to start from the scratch and are seeking Sourav Ganguly's assistance for the same. The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has confirmed their wish to have the former India captain as the team's batting coach. “We want Sourav's assistance. He is hugely respected here and his skills and tactical nous will greatly help our batsmen,†BCB chairman Mohammed Jalal Yunus told The Indian Express on Tuesday. They, however, are yet to make a formal offer. The BCB had earlier too come up with an offer, before Bangladesh's tour of England last year, but Ganguly had turned down the request citing personal reasons. This time, even if he agrees, Ganguly is likely to agree to work more as a consultant than a full-time coach. Meanwhile, the BCB has already short-listed replacements for Jamie Siddons as the chief coach, with former India all-rounder Robin Singh's name making the list. http://www.indianexpress.com/news/BCB-want-Sourav-as-batting-coach/778469/ Link to comment
