But all is not lost for Dilli though. Punjab is going through its usual struggles. RCB, Kochi and DC are all set to lose their captains in 2 weeks time. Pune is really reeling in the doldrums.. DD had the choice of retaining its players. They didnt use it. Then they went out and got all these International players that are not exactly international class. CSK and MI did it right. Infact MI more than CSK. While CSK went for all the same players, MI retained their core and build a stronger team around them. The top performer for CSK, guys like Ashwin, Murali vijay, Badrinath, Balaji were all paid 30,000$ till last year. Now, they are paid atleast 20 times that. That is all thanks to the auction. Same applies for other teams. Although it's understandable kkr wanted to rebuild a better team & they have done a fantastic job at that. If they win all their remaining matches they will get 16 points & may ccome in contention for Play-offs.
