ViruRulez
I think it is more of an issue with confidence rather than talent with Irfan for the last few years. The younger Pathan is mentally very weak and is quite low on confidence. The one thing I like about the elder Pathan compared to him is the mental strength. Yusuf is nowhere as talented as Irfan in terms of overall abilities but YP has improved in batting, bowling as well fielding and he keeps on improving. And when he is axed, he does not become demoralized and hits massive innings to make re-entry into the Indian team or to national limelight. YP was hardly a spinner when he came into the team too but he has improved a lot and also does not leak many runs. He used to get hit by batsmen off his spin but he hardly gets hit any boundaries nowadays. Similarly he was crappy fielder when he came into the team initially but he has improved a lot and his fielding in the WC this time was very good to be frank. The least improvement for YP has been his batting but he now applies his brain somewhat more than he used to be. He now plays balls on merit once in a while though he has brainfarts too on many occasions. But overall the younger Pathan can learn from the elder Pathan in terms of mental strength and confidence.
