gullu Posted December 14, 2006 Posted December 14, 2006 OK, they were bowled out for below-par score but They have already gotten rid of 2 of 5 specalist batsmen and Flintoff hasn't done much with bat so far. Pitch is giving some help to spinners. Austarlia will be bowling last on this pitch. England will need another super-effort from Pietersen or Collingwood to put Australia in a very difficult situation.
yoda Posted December 14, 2006 Posted December 14, 2006 Re: I'd gladly take Australia's position after day 1 I am guessing AUS would get a 1st innings lead of around 50. It will come down to the 2nd innings performance by both teams.
Dhondy Posted December 14, 2006 Posted December 14, 2006 Re: I'd gladly take Australia's position after day 1 Probably agree with you there Gullu, but I am not sure I'd back Australia to go all the way in this one. Monty frightens me with his talent. England have unearthed a genuine match winner in the surd.
The_Black_Prince Posted December 14, 2006 Posted December 14, 2006 Re: I'd gladly take Australia's position after day 1 Exactly, Gullu. Aussies will be bowling last ! Warney to clean up the Poms !!

yoda Posted December 14, 2006 Posted December 14, 2006 Re: I'd gladly take Australia's position after day 1 KP and Freddie to clean up the Druggie ... :wtg: :wtg:
gator Posted December 14, 2006 Posted December 14, 2006 Re: I'd gladly take Australia's position after day 1 like Sailesh mentioned.... the pommies are coming real hard at the Cons... and they gonna win this one.... remember Monty running thro on thefirst day and gonna bowl again on the 3 innings....
dhruvdeepak Posted December 14, 2006 Posted December 14, 2006 Re: I'd gladly take Australia's position after day 1 i agree with gullu on all his points. Poms would be hard-pressed to take a lead. Even if they do I am sure Aussies cant do worse in their 2nd effort with the bat. And then contend with Warney on day 4. Aussies still on top :wtg:
Guest dada_rocks Posted December 15, 2006 Posted December 15, 2006 Re: I'd gladly take Australia's position after day 1 poms lose 3-0 .. flintoff is as good as tailender these days
Guest dada_rocks Posted December 15, 2006 Posted December 15, 2006 Re: I'd gladly take Australia's position after day 1 only batsman Strauss who could have defied them gets bad decision once again..
gullu Posted December 15, 2006 Author Posted December 15, 2006 Re: I'd gladly take Australia's position after day 1 England, England, England - Did they really think they could pose a challenge to world's strongest side with such a brittle batting order? This will be one of the most one-sided Ashes ever.
yoda Posted December 15, 2006 Posted December 15, 2006 Re: I'd gladly take Australia's position after day 1 Like I said, first innings didn't make much diff. 30 run lead for aussies. so far 2nd innings has gone aus way.
