The garbage collection in my area is pathetically managed and I want to know how much the BBMP (Muncipal body) spends on garbage collection and the number of workers it employs for it.

Any specific incidents which happened? Interesting, all the more reason to file the query. I have typed it out. Now wondering whether to send it by speedpost or to submit it in person. Actually the law is pretty clear in this matter - BBMP (Bangalore Muncipal body) does come under the RTI act and is required to divulge any information to an interested citizen. What i was looking for is practical problems that someone faced during the RTI process. Often in our govt offices, officers look to postpone such queries by introducing artificial formalities

An activist was killed a few years back and his associate was attacked recently. He called the press, the news channels and openly blamed people. The very next day, he reverted from his previous stance by saying that he attacked himself. So you can imagine the extent of coercion that takes place. So be sure of what you are getting into.
