What we learnt from the WI odi series

4. Indian Power Play batting. It still hasn't improved and we still lose too many wkts during powerplay overs. And the scary part is that our lower middle order and tailenders don't even apply their brains. They know there are 3 overs still to go and instead of trying to play out the overs and score as many as they can, they still try to hit out as if they are facing the last ball of the innings.
This has now reached embarrassing proportions since the World Cup when setting a score. It's become endemic even with the first team. These batsman just need to apply just a teeny weeny common sense. That if you loose 1 wicket in the 1st PP over, than calm yourself. Even the following is considered a successful PP: 1st 3 runs 1 wkt 2nd 5 runs 3rd 5 runs 4th 10 runs 5th 10 runs 33 for 1 I would take it. Yesterday's 33 for 4 was a deja vu again.

One thing I hope the selectors have learned. To not make Suresh Raina captain ever again. He was literally clueless on most occasions and if it wasn't for Rohit's heroics we would've gone down 2-3 to WI right after World cup success.
I can't see any alternate of Dhoni at this moment.

Yusuf Pathan - Back to being inconsistent. Raina should have let him bowl a few more overs. ..
This... The 5th bowler was given just an over today, tell us how badly captain has utilized his talent today..

-our selctors need to look the quality of the international standard before they select a bowler. vinay absoultely pissed me off with his bowling. -raina should not be our captain anymore. Captaincy affects his batting for sure. -Ishant and sreesanth deserves more chances. -Badrinath should not complain anymore. -Mishra looks promising, deserves more chances than that transgender pragyan ojha. -Should look for one real quick bowler, like varun or umesh.
