gult Posted July 26, 2011 Posted July 26, 2011 Personally, I like 5:3:1.. Also, I think T20s and ODIs should be played before tests, as BCCI doesn't seem to care much about warm ups. What do you say?
Cricket Tragic Posted July 26, 2011 Posted July 26, 2011 4/5 tests and 3 ODIs. No need of useless Tontee Tontee matches. No one really gives a **** about those games anyway.
kabira Posted July 26, 2011 Posted July 26, 2011 absolutly agree, we tend to do well if ODIs are before Tests. The tour to SA (before most recent one) we were decimated in ODIs, but won first test and were close saving another one...
Cricket Tragic Posted July 26, 2011 Posted July 26, 2011 We had the Natwest series in 2002 before the tests and we still lost at Lord's in the first test.
Pagalpanti Posted July 26, 2011 Posted July 26, 2011 T20 series' are really crap, either have 3 to 5 T20's or just don't have them. Having a one off T20 is a ridiculous idea, especially as we have a world tournament for it. So it can't be ignored, people just dismiss it on forums saying its trash cricket but it should be played professional, the teams should start taking it seriously and also fans. I'd prefer 3 T20I's followed by 3 ODI's and 4-5 Tests in a tour.
gult Posted July 26, 2011 Author Posted July 26, 2011 We had the Natwest series in 2002 before the tests and we still lost at Lord's in the first test. IIRC, That series was a triangular series and we played too many ODIs. If they play that many ODIs, they are not going to do well. 2-3 ODIs before tests if there is no warm up match should be good enough for our main players to get accustomed to the conditions
gult Posted July 26, 2011 Author Posted July 26, 2011 we didnt lose that Lord's game. Just FYI 2002 lords we lost, :((
BERGKAMP Posted July 26, 2011 Posted July 26, 2011 how about 3-3-3 for every team and every series. keep it consistent across the board. it will mean players cannot complain about tiredness also.

Ridiculous idea. Imagine the Ashes or India-Aus being 3 test series because we want to fit in some useless T20 games.
BERGKAMP Posted July 26, 2011 Posted July 26, 2011 Why should only England and Australia only get to have 5 test series with each other? This is 2011 now and we have to change and adapt with modern times. #devilsadvocate

Serani Posted July 27, 2011 Posted July 27, 2011 5 T20 and 7 ODI's forget tests, show me the moneeeeeeeeeey.
Alchemist Posted July 27, 2011 Posted July 27, 2011 Forget this bilateral ODIs. They should start having triangular and quadrangular ODI tournaments. Ohhh !! How badly I miss Hero Cup type of tournaments.
deepak_sach Posted July 27, 2011 Posted July 27, 2011 Forget this bilateral ODIs. They should start having triangular and quadrangular ODI tournaments. Ohhh !! How badly I miss Hero Cup type of tournaments. Same thing with Asia Cup.Asia Cup should be made more popular rather than playing in front of empty stadiums...
deepak_sach Posted July 27, 2011 Posted July 27, 2011 5 T20 and 7 ODI's forget tests' date=' show me the moneeeeeeeeeey.[/quote'] Look at what England and Aus are playing 5 tests,7 ODIs,2 T20s .Everyone talks about Ind-Sl being overkill.What is this .Then?
deepak_sach Posted July 27, 2011 Posted July 27, 2011 +If England lose the ODI series 6-1 they say they did not prepare...
