Instead of adding yet another layer bureaucrats (lokpal will become that, doesnt matter whether it is what Anna wants or what the govt proposes). What are the other ways you can think for eliminating or rather reducing corruption? Having term limits at both center and state level leaderships? Having the Election Commission enforce inner party democracy (so hopefully leadership is not passed to children and such?) any other ideas?

Maybe, and this might be the hardest option, people can look at them selves and stop giving into corruption. Enough of blaming everybody. I think its time for people to be responsible and accountable for themselves.

yes. absolutely. abso-fracking-lutely. i would say lok sabha members must be term limited to three terms, whereas the prime minister should be elected to two terms that may only be served consecutively. thus, if a prime minister is ousted from power, he may never seek that candidature again.

i like this idea of inner party democracy. furthermore, is the notion of enforcing term limits too far fetched? wont it require a two thirds approval in the lower house to pass? and what would motivate these corrupt *****s to vote for legislature that deprives them of the gravy train?
