ganeshran Posted September 27, 2011 Posted September 27, 2011 Does anyone know how much is the fees that players earn playing tests? If a player solely plays tests, will he be able to earn as much as he does in IPL/ODI matches? If not, then shouldnt BCCI increase this remuneration to make the game more attractive for youngsters?
Sachin=GOD Posted September 27, 2011 Posted September 27, 2011 I think its around Rs7 lakh per match for Indian cricketers who are under the central contract.
Stuge Posted September 27, 2011 Posted September 27, 2011 http://linusfernandes.com/2010/11/12/indian-cricket-bcci-announces-revised-graded-payment-structure-list-of-contracted-players/ Similarly match fees have been increased: Test Match Fee: Rs. 2.5 lacs to Rs. 7 lacs. ODI Fee: Rs. 1.8 lacs to Rs. 4 lacs. T-20 Fee: Rs. 1 lac to Rs. 2 lacs.
gaurav92 Posted September 27, 2011 Posted September 27, 2011 Nope. They are already paid pretty well :nice:
Pagalpanti Posted September 27, 2011 Posted September 27, 2011 Even if they make it 10L it'll be peanuts for players. They earn in crores with ad shoots.
Stuge Posted September 27, 2011 Posted September 27, 2011 Even if they make it 10L it'll be peanuts for players. They earn in crores with ad shoots. keeping in mind one get ad shoots only if he makes it to the Indian National team and plays well .
zep1706 Posted September 27, 2011 Posted September 27, 2011 I voted yes, but if they get 7L per match as match fee, I think that's good enough.
saneindian Posted September 27, 2011 Posted September 27, 2011 What the players earn from the BCCI is a tiny % of the revenues they bring to the board. Ideally 35-40% of BCCI's income should be going to players fees (split equally between domestic and intenrational players). As of now I think BCCI's disburses only 26% of its total income among the players ,the Indian team -- got 13%, domestic cricketers got 10.6%, with the remaining 2.4% going to junior cricketers. Kirsten was being paid 400k usd and Fletcher is getting a similar amount. If the coaches could be paid so much, our players definitely deserve a lot more.
Pagalpanti Posted September 27, 2011 Posted September 27, 2011 keeping in mind one get ad shoots only if he makes it to the Indian National team and plays well . Thats true but this little increase in match fee will not be enough to motivate players if thats what the OP is trying to suggest.
