kabira Posted October 17, 2011 Posted October 17, 2011 This is weird. Whenever I download something, it starts downloading and later asks me to save to the folder. Seems like some plugin is crashing. It happens on Chrome, Opera, FF. Whenever I reboot the system, the problem is solved. I can see the downloading bar in "Downloads" and I can first save wherever I want. Has anyone had this issue? Seems to me something is crashing and it does not allow me to see teh actual downloading. It just happens in background.
akshayxyz Posted October 18, 2011 Posted October 18, 2011 Did you check the browser settings? Chrome -> Options -> Under the Hood -> Downloads. FF -> (Menu) Tools -> Options -> General -> Downloads
kabira Posted October 18, 2011 Author Posted October 18, 2011 yes download settings are fine. Ask where to save each file before downloading is checked. thats not a problem.
kabira Posted October 18, 2011 Author Posted October 18, 2011 same thing happens with video. It only plays when full video is downloaded. When I reboot and play video it works fine for some time. But after a while, videos only play when its fully downloaded.

akshayxyz Posted October 18, 2011 Posted October 18, 2011 I would suggest - back up settings/bookmarks, and re-install the browsers and plugin.
