CSK Fan Posted December 11, 2011 Posted December 11, 2011 Sachin - 180 to 200 (16 Balls) Sehwag - 180 to 200 (9 balls) next set of numbers plz :winky: Pretty difficult to keep on hitting when you are not getting strike for a long time. dhoni was hogging most of the strike and Sachin was getting 1 or 2 balls ever two-three overs. would have been obvious to anyone with a bit of common sense

They all know that Dhoni was taking singles off the last ball of almost every over and Sachin was getting to play only one odd ball or two. But they still expect Sachin to blast off those solitary Steyn/Parnell deliveries for a SIX everytime he faced them.

Just because Dhoni took singles and Hog strike doesnt means Sachin shouldnt have taken some risks :winky: i guess lot of common sense required for knowing this.. you people yourself impleing Sachin plays for records :banghead: Sachin bashers don't care too much about common sense. Would it be better losing a wicket when a partnership has settled and is going super smooth? Even minor criticism needs to fair, without an agenda.

Magneto Posted December 11, 2011 Posted December 11, 2011 what is this test match :hysterical: in a ODI match slog overs u dont try to build partnership ...that also when we are made around 300 runs You need to know the importance of not losing many wickets in the last few overs of an ODI. A lot of times a team gets a great start, loses a few wickets during the last ten and completely loses its rhythm. Partnerships are important in all forms of cricket - Test, ODI and T20. All big scores are built on partnerships and not through mindless slogging. One big key of finishing at 350 instead of 300 is to retain your wickets. Check out most 350+ scores and you'll know what I am taking about.

Made 68 out of 35 balls .. Sachin made 32 from 19 ( same stast u picked yesterday...only thing is he made 10 runs out of first 2 balls and next 17 balls made 22 runs) if u tell Sachin tired something thats fine...but just telling again and agin that he didnt got strike is really funny

And Dhoni played 2/3rd of the game when he came on to bat, and he was hitting the big shots well. Taking boundaries off makes no sense. In that case Sehwag made 77(117) which is very ordinary :P

gaurav92 Posted December 11, 2011 Posted December 11, 2011 Lets get this right first. I am a die hard Sachin fan (you know it already), and I feel that 219 was once in a lifetime kind of an innings. You will probably not see an innings like that ever again (at least by an Indian). I like Veeru's batting style and who doesn't? He is a treat to watch. But I feel it will be lame to compare the two innings, only two have made it in the club, and we must take pride in saying that two of the greatest entertainers have made it to the club rather than debating which one was superior to the other. I personally feel that Sachin's 200 was better because it cam against better opposition, and it was chanceless, but does that really matter? If to others Veeru's innings was better - I don't feel they are wrong, it is their opinion and I wont feel bad unless they start saying that Sachin's 200 was inferior to Veerus'. There is no need to demean one's innings to point out the others' superiority.

That means Dhoni was hogging the strike for more than 75 per cent of time. If you want to be blind to the real match facts, I cannot help much. I am just wasting time on this match thread now. Also, India was 340/4 at 45 and with a few wickets, could have folded up at 375/8. They crossed 400 which is a much better score.
