Don't take our word for it. Just sample the public transport in the two cities before you pass judgment. A train journey from Huda City Centre (a station in the satellite city of Gurgaon) to Rajiv Chowk in central Delhi takes roughly 50 minutes - about the same time taken to get from Vashi (in Navi Mumbai) to the iconic Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus in South Mumbai by a 'Mumbai local'. The time taken to reach is where the similarity ends. In Delhi, passengers make the journey in the comfort of an air-conditioned Bombardier coach and are likely to grab a seat, except perhaps in peak hours. In Mumbai, if the passengers manage to wriggle and wrestle their way into the jam-packed coaches, they are likely to be on their toes, literally, for the rest of the journey. That's just one of the many challenges that Mumbai throws at its ever loyal citizenry. A paucity of affordable housing, traffic snarls, roads that resemble water-based theme parks during monsoons and terror attacks that recur with predictable regularity are making people wonder if Mumbai's days as India's #1 city are numbered. The very fact that you thought it necessary to argue in favor of Delhi and show points how Delhi can be better than Mumbai shows that you truely believe that Mumbai is indeed better and one has to argue to prove that Delhi is better. It's like Tendulkar-Inzamam comparisons. Such comparisions are always invariably started by inzamam fans with some argument to show that Inzamam is better because they know deep inside that Tendulkar is far better. In contrast a Tendulkar fan would never even dream of starting such a comparision.

Exactly my thoughts when I read that BS. :cantstop: btw....You can't call a place a city if it has Ooru(village) as a suffix in its name. :finger:

i wish people concentrated on improving their own cities rather than bringing other cities down. there are a lot that needs to improve in either cities, for that matter every city in the country. Delhi has become much, much better then it was a decade or so back but there is still much that needs to be done. Mumbai seems to be in a slide, the infrastructure in the city is atrocious. the law enforcement has gone down as well.

1 honest and deep thought. If mumbai wants to become an elite city and looking forward to match the standards of Shanghai, Sydney, Tokyo etc etc, then it should throw bollywood out of it completely. This city is paying a very high price for being a bollywood hub. Just throw it out completely, then see the diff in couple of years. It is just a suggestion. Think about it before reacting. India is developing and we want our cities to match the world standards which they are definitely lacking at the moment.

So you think Andhra Pradesh as current state of Hyderabad is bad. Pretty harsh statement you made there. :ohmy:
