Ultimate_Game Posted January 14, 2012 Posted January 14, 2012 I think ICC will need to come up with a mercy rule in cricket real soon to make the games more exciting for spectators and reduce the amount of boring one-sided cricket, especially when teams like India are playing. I mean when Team A overtakes Team B's score with all 10 wkts in hand, there should be something for the spectators to look forward to. At least they can retain interest just to see whether mercy rule will be applied or not. I say any team which overtakes their opponent's total with 8 or more wkts in hand wins by knock out (mercy rule). Why stretch out the charade when the result's already inevitable.

Have to feel for Australians who have to watch this shambolic team when they would have found the KFC bash much more entertaining. Plus even "taking like a man" has some limits... we have been taking it since the Eng series with no end in sight :haha: Hamara haal to us gadhi jaisa ho gaya hai jis pe koi tharki gadha chad gaya hai :winky:

ananthd Posted January 14, 2012 Posted January 14, 2012 Innings Forfeiture is certainly legal. To make it better for everyone, all Dhoni has to do is to forfeit the second innings here, as well as the first & second innings in Adelaide.

That way our team can concede both the Perth and Adelaide matches and come back home and do some go-carting or even F1 style racing (I am sure the BCCI can hire the Budh International Circuit)

We need these matches to be more competitive. I'm in favour of letting small cricket countries like India and Bangladesh a bit of an advantage .

Would make for more interesting cricket and less one-sided Tests. Good call!
