1983-2011 Posted January 26, 2012 Posted January 26, 2012 Hosts D Y Patil Group's 'A' squad emulated their 'B' side by entering the quarter-finals of the Rs 12-lakh prize money eighth All-India T20 Cricket Tournament at their stadium in Navi Mumbai on Wednesday. The hosts' 'A' squad scored a comfortable 44-run victory over State Bank of Travancore to set up a quarter-final clash against Air India. Goa's Swapnil Asnodkar did the star turn for the hosts' 'A' team. The one-down batsman smashed an unbeaten 84 from just 47 deliveries, with four sixes and 10 hits to the ropes. His effort was supplemented by Farman Ahmed's 51 and Jharkhand player Saurabh Tiwari's 36. In reply, SBT's innings ended at 138 for eight with Siddharth Chitns grabbing three for 16. In another match, pacer Munaf Patel captured three for 11 to help his team ONGC restrict MRF to 137 all out, before the oilmen surpassed the target with seven wickets to spare. ONGC will meet Reliance One in the quarter-finals. Batting first, MRF were bundled out for 137 in 19.2 overs, Munaf Patel's three-wicket haul supported by Parveen Gupta and Punit Mehra, who took two wickets apiece.
