Cricket Tragic Posted January 28, 2012 Author Posted January 28, 2012 stephen fleming wanted the job anyway. Really? I remember him saying that he wasn't interested.
1983-2011 Posted January 28, 2012 Posted January 28, 2012 Manager: Kapil Dev Batting: Tendulkar Pace Bowling: Zaheer Spin Bowling: Kumble Fielding: Kaif
King Tendulkar Posted January 28, 2012 Posted January 28, 2012 Prasad and Singh again. Ther record was superb
NeutralCat Posted January 29, 2012 Posted January 29, 2012 Kapil Dev as coach? Yeah good joke that one.
Aussie-r-best Posted January 29, 2012 Posted January 29, 2012 Really? I remember him saying that he wasn't interested. And why would you be... sure cashflow is great while it lasts but you are appointed with people lauding your arrival... you are considered a hero.... first loss and people are throwing paint, burning e***ies, copping abuse.... India go through coaches like most teams go through bats.... Why would any self respecting individual put themselves in the position of beig smashed by Indians because the coach didn't win every game for the side (it happens and denial of this fact is half the problem).... I think Fletcher is a terrible coach with a terrible record and am amazed India appointed him in the first place.... India has already sacked some great coaches for absolutely ludicrous reasons generally being in denial of the real reason.... Put it this way, the coach is there to provide a plan and ensure the playrs know it.... The coach does not hold the bat or play the dumb shots that saw Indians get out, He did not bowl the planless rubbish the likes of Ishant dished up.... he did not set the fields, drop the catches, misfield the balls, that was ALL the players themselves... I heard Viru talking about individual this and individual that yesterday.... this is a team game, there is a team plan - there is no "I" in team albeit there is clearly one in Team India.... The sooner the players are accountable for bad performances by being dropped immediately irrespective of name, as soon as the blame game (its always the coach, the BCCI and the captain - gernerally in that order), the better off and more likely of success abroad Indian cricket will be

Lot of Hyperbole. John Wright and Gary Kirsten were there for a while and left on great terms. Under JW, we went through lots of ups and downs, and no one called for his head. It is only when you get a crack head like your Krappell or the current clown who seems to have no clue, do people call for a change.
NeutralCat Posted January 29, 2012 Posted January 29, 2012 India do not go through coaches like you claim Aussie, Kirsten and Wright were gun coaches and left on their own terms even though a lot of us Indians didn't want them to leave.

On Kirrtsen though, some in here have been pretty harsh and hateful toward him
NeutralCat Posted January 30, 2012 Posted January 30, 2012 Aussie I guess you get the haters everywhere mate, but yeah majority of Indian fans would love Kirsten back. I think Fleming would do a good job with a young Indian team, he would be the idea manager to coach young kids coming into the national setup.

I think Fleming would do a good job with a young Indian team, he would be the idea manager to coach young kids coming into the national setup. I agree with the Fleming suggestion... Of all NZ captains, Crowe had a good record but he had some good players with him and a more experienced unit... Fleming was the driver of what is IMO and without intending to be rude to our mates over the ditch, a pretty inexperienced team lacking in any superstars or future legends. He got more out of the NZ side than they should have produced IMO. Only issue is if he can manage the Indian team and the expectations and demands... In some respects it could be like putting a goldfish into the ocean. I still think S Waugh is the best option but I am not sure there is even a remote chance that could occur
NeutralCat Posted January 30, 2012 Posted January 30, 2012 I don't think Waugh wants to coach? But yeah Waugh would be an awesome get for India.
ChanaLal Posted January 30, 2012 Posted January 30, 2012 Let's make someone who's not overhyped and can do a good job. No bull shyt and nothing ROBIN SINGH You clearly don't know what a mess he made of the USA Under 19s head coach role then
ChanaLal Posted January 30, 2012 Posted January 30, 2012 We need Gary Kirsten back I think Kirsten saw this coming and got out fast. Fleming would be a decent head coach choice. No more South Africans though, or Aussies plz. They are ruining IPL too. Based on ability to coach and make a difference I would choose: Head Coach: Stephen Fleming (NZ) Batting Coach: Gordon Greenidge (WI) Fast Bowling Coach: Ian Pont (ENG) Spin Bowling Coach: John Emburey (ENG) Fielding Coach: Julien Fountain (ENG) All five coaches hold the 'head coach' status with Greenidge, Pont, Emburey and Fountain having been national coaches before,

jonas10 Posted February 1, 2012 Posted February 1, 2012 Heres a radical idea hire an Indian? The whole...they are more organized than India thing is a bit played out. Um since when is Zimbabwe more organized than India? This argument may hold ground with the Aussies but thats about it. Hire an Indian or an Aussie thats it.

It's only the IPL's and the sub continent's love affair with Aussies that gives them any work.

Aussie-r-best Posted February 1, 2012 Posted February 1, 2012 Ch 9 has some weird a*se rating system based off the Moneyball movie (the Brad Pitt one).... Dumb as but they rated both teams and I see viru is rated at 89 out of 100 which is the equal highest rating in cricket (with Chris Gayle)... Interstingly VK is rated 66 so hes just a cricketer on those ratings lol :haha:
