Once bitten, twice shy, former India opener and Mumbai skipper Wasim Jaffer has not made himself available for this yearÃÔ Indian Premier League (IPL) auction, to be held in Bangalore on Saturday. He went unsold at last yearÃÔ auction and couldnÃÕ be a part of IPL4. As a capped India player, Jaffer had the option being part of the auction. The IPL organisers on Monday released a list of 144 players eligible for the auction, including those who were part of the now-defunct Kochi Tuskers Kerala. VVS Laxman, explosive New Zealand batsman Brendon McCullum, S Sreesanth as well as Sri Lanka skipper Mahela Jayawardene who all were with Kochi last year - are in the mix. Laxman is among those who have the highest base price of $400,000 (R 1.98 cr approx), although it remains to be seen whether he is picked after his poor run in Australia. Jaffer said: Ūf you go unsold in the auction, then it becomes too complicated to be a part of the IPL. ItÃÔ better if you deal directly with a franchisee thatÃÔ interested in signing you up.Ǽ/B] There is uncertainty for five uncapped players Sushant Marathe, Kedar Jadhav, Deepak Choughule, Raiphi Gomez and Tanmay Srivastava - who were with Kochi after they were not included in the auction. They have been allowed to sign for any team after the auction.
he does have a decent record in t20 for mumbai, average of 27.60 with strike rate of 127.77, dont know why he's considered as a slow player and no one bought him in the auction last year. p.s. t20 lovers, u cant mock him in this thread, he's scored the most runs in ranji trophy :poink:

Rajasthan should go for him and Akash Chopra in current Auction. And add to that Dravid at no.3.
rajasthan dont really have that much resources anyway for the past 3 seasons. its not as if jaffer is dying to play t20 as he has played in the league club for the past 2 years when IPL was taking place and he is also going to play this year also but obviously he wouldnt mind abit of cash cause u dont really make that much money from ranji trophy now do u.
