Think it was that chewtiya Geoff Lawson who defended Amir match fixing. Sree bowled well in the games he played and Jayawardene backed him. They wanted to select slower bowlers like spinners or medium pacers that's why Sree was rotated. You have to assess pitch but Geoff got it wrong. If Sree was captain as was initially planned, Kochi would have done better, attendances were due to him playing.

Brett Lee can hit some shots and I have seen Sree do it to Nannes in IPL and also in tests.
