When we lost to B'desh last time round in 2007 we hit rock bottom in odis failing to even qualify for WC super 8s. But it was that moment when our fortunes turned and we went on to win the T20 Cup, reach the pinnacle in Test cricket, became one of the most formidable teams in odis and eventually ended up winning the next WC in 2011 :yay: Let's hope that the cycle repeats itself as in the longer run a defeat to B'desh is not the end of the world as long as it helps us on our way to climb earlier heights :pray: Maybe this embarrassing loss to B'desh will finally prove to selectors and Dhoni that trundlers like Dinda and PK are not the answers and neither is Ravindra Jadeja an all-rounder in intl cricket. If we manage to learn just these 2 lessons the defeat would have served us well.

Good point but real issue is will you be able to replace Zaheer who probably was the stand out pacer in world cricket for last 6 years. Will Sehwag regain his mojo? He was a freak and will be almost impossible to replace at the top. Who will be your match winning spinner? Ind lacking a spinning match winner is a real surprise considering you past history.

Batting has never been a problem for India in odis as the odis are generally played on flat wkts anyways. It's the bowling or lack of it which has hurt us. Hopefully today's defeat will get folks like Rahul Sharma into the bench and move selectors to unearth wicket taking bowlers. Till now selectors never really made an effort to give chances to bowlers who had the potential and played it safe going for the likes of Vinay, Dinda etc. and our decent odi record papered over the cracks. This defeat will at least force the team management and selectors to identify and back genuine wkt takers and move on from limited bits & pieces players like Jadeja.
