CoverDrive Posted April 7, 2012 Posted April 7, 2012 this is just the start of ipl but i think selectors should keep a close watch on on this season and think of aeriously revamping our team. If i again see some like praveen kumar in srilanka for world T20 it would be really pathetic. Some of my initial thoughts on the potential squad. Our batting more or less is fine - current batch is generally the top performers in the ipl also. Some contenders like uthappa, rayudu etc should be seen as how they do. Rahane can challenge rohit for his place. One key spot is the number 7 - jadeja is a big question mark and he does not perform in ipl they should drop him for one of the pathans and some one else whoever does best. Bowling is a big area where i am sure there will be better options than the current lot. Zaheer, yadav, vinay, ashwin have to prove that they are the best to be considered the top bowlers in the country. Guys like rahul sharma, munaf (not impressed with other seamers till now), murli kartik, ojha are serious contenders to make it to the team. Lets keep a watch while the tournament progresses.
