Why is it unfortunate ? The so called World no.1 must be capable of defeating everyone and playing Anand in World chess championship.

Did I say anything different? - unfortunate mess in system ( and not person).. there are two parallel rankings - one is WChamp, one is #1 in rating systems... there should be one ladder and public should get to see matches between top rankers within that one single ladder - especially towards something which is labeled - World Championship.

To play g6 is further weakening the pawn structure, what White can use later with an h5 push, or to play Kf8 but then O-O is not possible anymore. *
