Malcolm Merlyn Posted June 9, 2012 Posted June 9, 2012 BCCI perhaps makez more profit than all the other boards combined. Sent from my GT-I9103 using Tapatalk 2
Marut Posted June 10, 2012 Posted June 10, 2012 Guys I know I am definitely missing something here... logically BCCI controls World cricket, and contributes to two thirds of income blah blah... But I just glanced upon the last financial statements published by both boards. According to ECB's financial report YE 31-Dec-10, they've reported a turnover of 106 milliion GBP = 901 crore INR As per BCCI's last published financials for YE 31Mar11, they;ve reported a total income of INR 868 crore.... Now, ECB has reported a net loss for the same period, whereas BCCI has made a whopping Net Income (after expenditure) of about 286 crore INR.... But really surprised about the turnover/income part... Also begs the question, is not BCCI distributing adequately the revenue it is making? Cost of living is higher in England than in India. As a base example, what does a groundsman in England make, and what does a groundsman in India make? Let me take a crude guess - the former gets #1000 ( Rs.80000+/mo) per month and the latter gets Rs.10000/month. Now, extrapolate the costs incurred at all hiearchical levels, and you know why ECB made a loss. India is a cheap country, where BCCI makes income that rivals ECB but their expenses are a fraction.

cameron_black Posted June 10, 2012 Posted June 10, 2012 Do they even maintain accounts? Last I heard' date=' their players weren't paid for over 9 months.[/quote'] yeah that's the thing. as soon as a probe starts, some important papers regarding transactions go missing, the security head gets sacked and all good.
