Cricket Tragic Posted July 7, 2012 Posted July 7, 2012 I was watching Ramprakash score his 100th FC century and the umpire was in there to shake his hand immediately after he got it. It's not unknown for umps to have a quiet word with a player in the olden days but you don't see it often today. Certainly not shaking hands with the player.

goggi Posted July 7, 2012 Posted July 7, 2012 I guess a verbal pat on the back is acceptable but a handshake is a step too far, especially at international level considering all the cameras, bookies and fickle fans what not these days.

Especially if the batting or bowling success benefited from an iffy decision or two.

Honestly, I don't see a big deal.
