DomainK Posted July 20, 2012 Posted July 20, 2012 The word rape will now be replaced by the phrase "Sexual Assault"and will be similarly applicable to both sexes. So far the Indian law considered rape as a crime that men commit against women. Now they are changing it to "Sexual Assault" that can be committed by either sex against either sex - opposite sex or same sex. Also, they have changed the definition of "minor" in relation to sex crimes, from "below 16" to "below 18". And they have have now separated acid attacks as a separate crime resulting in 10 years incarceration and 10 lakhs fine.
