sandtest Posted August 22, 2007 Share Posted August 22, 2007 Phoolpur constituency in Allahabad district use to have "relatively" calm elections, until Mulla-Yam Singh's Samajwadi Party introduced Atiq Ahmed as their candidate.:giggle: Atiq Ahmed has a history of criminal records.....operated a well established gang of extortionists and land grabbers and spread his name till Pratap Garh and Jaunpur. In Allahabad city area itself there are myriads of cases of land grabbing, threat and kidnapping for ransom, murder etc. registered against him much before his entry in politics....The guy has supporters armed with most modern weapons like AK47-- I wonder from where he gets these weapons?:confused_smile: Knowing all these Samajwadi Party decided to give ticket to Atiq....not to forget there are few small industries in Phoolpur belonging to some "friendly" folks of Amar Singh. They are built on the land grabbed with the help of this Atiq's gundagardi. A classic example of a criminal, later projected as politician by Samajwadi Party.
