CoverDrive Posted September 10, 2012 Posted September 10, 2012 Everyone and thier uncle is writing one - Swann now Anderson and next Broad. I am sure there are lots of others who have come out with their life stores. A guy like Botham or Gower writing bios I can understand. But 20 something guys who have not even achieved anything and are not even through their careers writing about their life is pretty lame! I seriously think there are way too many journalists and writers and the like in England and every second guy can think he is the second coming of Shakespeare. The hype such useless books gets is unbelievable. I get it that this is easy money and that is all there is to it why don't you go play in some T20 league if they will take you. Playing cricket commercially is called out as selling out but writing passive aggressive whinefests is real classy. Expect series of nonsense articles on false controversies or better still cheap shots at some cricketing icons (Yuvraj's legs were shaking when he hit me for 6 6s) because god know indian media will give you enough publicity. I am sure people are waiting for Indian tour and expect some bile from Broad or some other idiot promoting his useless book.

The same is happening in tennis - all 20+ guys have a published autobiography including the likes of Andy Murray. But not everyone can write a great autobiography - Agassi's autobio stands out here for all the masala and the brilliantly woven prose. :hatsoff:
maverick451 Posted September 10, 2012 Posted September 10, 2012 Unfortunately its the British culture and has been for the last 5-10 years, for some reason people seem to want to know exactly whats happening with anyone famous on a minute by minute update, it seems a little bit to be going away thankfully! Wayne Rooney bought out his first autobiography at 20 years of age!! Here is my thought on the subject via Ricky gervais from extras, great scene [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EQAr_AjZt-E]Amazing Scene From Extras Christmas Special - YouTube[/ame]
