1983-2011 Posted December 9, 2012 Posted December 9, 2012 How well do you think Proportional representation voting system would work in India where we have State Legislative Assembly and Lok Sabha compared to the current first-past-the-post voting system?

I think it would be a good option where India has so many regional parties contesting Lok Sabha elections, it would give them seats according to their percentage of votes instead of getting very less because they are most likely to come 3rd after the main two parties but tbh i dont know how the seats and elected MPs constituencies would be allocated. currently the MPs of Rajya Sabha are elected by the members of the State Legislative Assemblies, in accordance with proportional representation.
