1983-2011 Posted February 13, 2013 Posted February 13, 2013 LUCKNOW: Comedian Raju Srivastava would be the Lok Sabha candidate of ruling Samajwadi Party (SP) in Uttar Pradesh (UP) from Kanpur. Raju hails from Kanpur and would challenge senior Congress leader Sriprakash Jaiswal, two times MP from Kanpur and at present union coal minister. After announcement of his name, Raju told reporters that as comedian he made people laugh and feel good for a short span but as public representative he can make people smile all the time by solving their problems. When asked that he has been pitted against giants like Sriprakash Jaiswal, he said that he will go to the people with a clean heart and it would be on the people whether they decide to trust him or not. He also said that he will also continue to do stand up comedy irrespective of win or loss in the elections.
