my defense in the tournament. you just had to see the games to be convinced. if not, assume that SRT opened instead of Gambhir and see if that convinces you. :haha:
The games are exciting no doubt , but the boys can easily masquerade as men. Only, they will be badly exposed later on. Imagine Joginder Sharma playing in that Adelaide test. Wonder what his figures would be ? 20 overs , 140 runs , 0 wickets ? :haha: And you just made me feel worse by reminding me about Gambhir. If the minnow-basher Gambhir can score 225 runs , the master would easily scored 350 runs and we would have won the semis and finals by margin of 70-80 runs.

Joginder won't be playing tests, just like VVS or Wasim Jaffer or Akash Chopra won't be playing 20/20s. edit: hopefully joginder won't be playing 20/20s either. :haha:

We have had equally worse players play test cricket. Remember VRV-hit wicket Singh? :haha:
Why are we going around in circles ? If it is of any help to you , i could quote you names of the top 10 pathetic cricketers ever to have played test cricket. Bottom line - Test cricket OWNS 20/20. :two_thumbs_up:

If its about talent of players, i agree, test cricket is much more challenging. But come to think of it, the way that game is being played has changed remarkably in the last 10 years. Totals of 400 in a day are easily being hit. Basically, ODI's are influencing test cricket big time... Soon 20/20 will influence ODI and test. U might be a fan of long winding matches with batsmen leaving the ball at every opportunity , to me its like watching an art movie. Cricket is entertainment and i want it to be entertaining ps: The mind game involved in 18 hours of cricket is a lot more than the 45 hour test cricket that you seem to suggest. It takes as much toll of your body and requires a lot more thinking. This is refreshing, this is a good change and we are WC in this format. I dont see how a victory against a top team can be equalled to this. Hell overcast conditions or a dusty track can get a victory as well... comments about jogi etc...he was not a 20-20 specialist. So he deserves some praise for holding whatever little nerve he had in the last over of the match. Dont berate him. Again, a series win against australia is just a series win. This is big, we won the world on international soil . The team was young, and were put repeatedly in tense situations. They did us proud. No player will ever feel guilty about this achievement.

To add, in tset cricket, you can be a specialist in form and get away with it. In ODI's 20/20 you need to be all rounders. You dont need champions but u need a complete player. So the demands again are more. Any flaws can be hidden in 450 overs . A bowler can get away with a lot of no-balls and wides. Batsmen can play off a period and get his form back. THese opportunites are not provided in a 20 over match. Either you are in form, or you are in the pavilion....
