When I complained that my taxes and premiums are going up under the healthcare act, I was told that I must sacrifice a bit for the welfare of others. But when their child's school cut programs for "academically gifted" kids so they could shore up their programs for under-performing, underprivileged minority kids, the outrage was immediate. "Why should my boy pay for their parents not paying attention to their studies? They are wasting my tax dollars." My response? Shell out the extra 10-G and put genius beta in a private school. No one's forcing you to leave him in a public school, no?
