Ooups...Whatmore up for NCA Director's job! The India Cricket Board say they are in talks with ex-Bangladesh and Sri Lanka coach Dav Whatmore about the role of director of their National Academy. The 53-year-old Australian had been linked with the vacant post as India's head coach following Greg Chappell's departure after the World Cup in March. He has also been tipped to replace Bennett King as West Indies coach. But an India Cricket Board spokesman confirmed that Whatmore was in talks with their Academy chief Ravi Shastri.

Whatmore guided Sri Lanka to World Cup triumph in 1996 and helped minnows Bangladesh reach the second round in the Caribbean this year after a shock win over India. He quit his post as coach on 29 May and has since been linked with the vacant coaching roles in India and West Indies as well as being overlooked for the role of Pakistan coach in favour of Geoff Lawson. ________________________________________________________________ :wilted_rose: yaar, some one should make BCCI understand that we need this man as our national team coach and not as director...say what!

Yeah whatmore is a good candidate ... Richard Done is also another option. But do not kid yourself into thinking a coach will magically fix everything. They will help a little bit, but ultimately it is the players that are out there for 100 overs or 5 days
