Maulana Azaad's "ek muddat tak hum sabr karein" has now lasted over 65 years. Reminds me of the couplet lamhon ne khata ki thi, sadiyon se sazaa paayi hai. Looks pretty decent though. Nice to see the figures of Azaad, Nehru, Patel, Rajinder Prasad etc. Hopefully Benegal saab would stay true to the subject and bring out the real discussion and the grind of constitutional creation. Thanks for sharing!!

Have you seen "Pradhanmantri"? Its a 26 part series about India's political history since independence. Probably one of the best documentary series I have seen in India till date. Link - https://www.youtube.com/show/pradhanmantri/videos

This seems very promising. Benegal saab has done justice to the subject by giving enough coverage to the 2nd string of leaders like KM Munshi, Amrit Kaur and so on, who are oft forgotten otherwise. Of course it is meant in a relative sense since they were all great folks in their own right. TT Krishnamachari proves everything that has been said about him. Playing the violence card and clubbing all Southie states together to gang up against Hindi. It is odd how in the end it became about South India vs the rest in matter of language. That clubbed with his chewtiyagiri on stealing Eastern Indian mineral resources at a pittance in the name of "National" wealth should be enough to soil his legacy. Maulana Azaad comes out smelling of million roses. He is rendered quite far behind the Nehrus and Patels today but the man was the embodiment of all things that make India great. Oddly enough casting Tom Alter in that role seems spot on. Never knew Tom Alter can speak chaste Urdu. Good on him. Great share mate. Please have more if you find them :winky::winky:

Scripting A Nation With Samvidhaan, the 10-part series telling the story of the Indian Constituent Assembly, Shyam Benegal returns to directing for television after 25 years. Nishat Bari writes about the making of the show that is yet another important moment in the filmmaker’s tryst with history and storytelling. http://www.sunday-guardian.com/artbeat/scripting-a-nation good article on how this series was made...
