Brainfade Posted March 11, 2014 Posted March 11, 2014 Scientists: ... the scientific evidence does not support an argument that human-induced climate change has played any appreciable role in the current California drought. http://www.nytimes.com/2014/03/09/opinion/sunday/global-warming-not-always.html President Obama: Obama drew a clear connection between California's troubles and climate change as he toured part of a farm that will go unsown this year as the state faces its worst drought in more than 100 years. Even if the U.S. takes action now to curb pollution, the planet will keep getting warmer "for a long time to come" thanks to greenhouse gases that have already built up, Obama said. hhttp://www.indiancricketfans.com/ttp://www.huffingtonpost.com/2014/02/14/obama-california-drought_n_4791906.html I am not a climate-change skeptic. Evidence is strong that the earth's temperature has been steadily increasing and it is most likely due to manmade greenhouse gases. But we fail science when we attribute every climate anomaly to anthropogenic global warming, even when it is clear that it is not. This eco-fundamentalism is the new religion in the West, and the new litmus test for leftist politicians. Dogmatists like President Obama are afraid they will be labeled anti-science unless they parrot that climate change causes every adverse climate event and throw govt money at fixing it, even if it makes no sense. Ironically enough, they don't see that their position is the anti-scientific one. PS: On a side-note, the NYT article came out after Pres. Obama's speech. Wish they had the guts to call him out for his puffery and scientific misinterpretation.
surajmal Posted March 11, 2014 Posted March 11, 2014 While anthropogenic global warming may be a hoax, anthropogenic rape of mother earth isn't so. Long term forecast is FUBAR; skeptics be damned.

Attributing it to every adverse climate effect, like the enviro-whackos love to do, is the hoax that undermines the real science.

Attributing it to every adverse climate effect, like the enviro-whackos love to do, is the hoax that undermines the real science. That is what I actually meant. Even Greenpeace cofounder, Patrick Moore, came out recently and said that the organization used scare tactics and faulty models to promote the AGW campaign. While people like Bjorn Lomborg have been fighting this GW hysteria since forever.
