BlackMamba Posted June 2, 2014 Author Posted June 2, 2014 For the 1st time I have seen, going by Yahoo comments, there was quite a bit of dissent amongst White Americans against Indians. I mean, there always was, but not to the extent as I have see this time. It seems like the general feeling is -- Asians (yes we are clubbed as Asians together with Chinese, Koreans etc.) have stolen the American thunder. This phenomenon is actually raising quite a few eye-brows. Understandbly so, it is just not the fact that Indians are winning these, but the sheer percentage of Indians in the top 10 or top 12 is making other races sick of us and also quite possibly making them lose interest. Tomorrow if an American kid is encouraged, he might say -- what is the point, the damn Indians are going to win anyways. Just 2 days ago Google released, after much reluctance the ethnic composition of their workforce. 60% Whites 30% plus Asians 3% - Blacks and Hispanics. moreover less than 15% women. Now, that is going to get some attention.
Sidhoni Posted June 2, 2014 Posted June 2, 2014 Of course it does. Maybe not the advance level (calculus' date=' etc) but most math do. And do remember, math and science are not competing and showing off in these contests as school kids[/quote'] Ok not even advanced but when was the last time you used a simple Pythagoras theorem or Avogadro's mole concept in your life?
