Asif Still Hopeful Of Taking On India

Pakistan paceman Mohammad Asif is still hopeful of playing a part in the coming Test series against India despite his elbow injury. Asif is seeking specialised advice on his injury and may travel to Australia for the purpose - with the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) keen to see the speedster back in action as soon as possible. However, Asif is satisfied with the progress he has made under the current treatment and is keen to sort the injury out before the conclusion of the Test series against India. "I do not rule myself out of the entire series against India because I am improving under the able guidance of the PCB doctor at the National Cricket Academy and doing my training regularly," Asif told The Dawn. "The PCB is trying to get an appointment with a medical expert in Australia and hopefully it will be some time in next week. "I have been advised to have a four-week rest now but after my visit to consult the specialist, I will hopefully be available for the team in India." Fast bowler Mohammad Sami is another option for the PCB, if Asif fails to recover before the Test series. The three-match Test series begins on November 22 in Delhi.

it does not make any difference in tests. things would have been diff if he would have come back in one dayers. simply becoz you dont have pressure of scoring quickly in test so you have to jut survive the intiial 10 overs den the wickets become batting paadise. but in one dayers he would have been lethal opening bowling with akhtar,

Asif is more dangerous in Tests. He is easy to play in ODI's.
