Kadesh Posted October 20, 2014 Author Posted October 20, 2014 You've shared an article specific to English cricket. It's up to the readers to revel in the romanticism of English village cricket, or have no interest in it and be bored by it. You have conveniently chosen to call out those who aren't interested in this article as not being cricket fans, to suit your agenda, which seems to be to preach your self-righteous version of true cricket. A cricket lover need not necessarily be a fan of amateur English cricket. And who needs your approval anyway? nobody. But when the game ceases to be an enjoyable experience, remember this article. Every day we see people taking it further from its roots, closer to a business. Right now it looks like the BCCI are going to drive the Windies out of existence. The ECB CA and BCCI out of self interested greed have shut the doors on expansion, most likely will see NZ and South Africa drop out the game. The game is sick, and anyone who argues that the 'gentleman's game' is not something to be lived up to has real problems in my opinion. It is not a standard to beat people over the head with, but for it to simply be business seems utterly wrong.
TheWall Posted October 20, 2014 Posted October 20, 2014 Yet to win a series in Australia or South Africa. 7th ranked test team all time. I'll take no world cup thanks:):giggle::giggle::giggle: t now. but have been No.1 also. Some time back Eng was rotting down in test ranking. These rankings keep changing. But as far as world cup... Worse cannot produce own cricketers.. but keep on poaching from other countries... Current players are not the nicest. I never said the England team plays how they should. Merely that at some levels the English game represents a very pure form of the game. Perhaps you should try to separate the two? As for poaching tell me one non-british player who's played for England.
