AmreekanDesi Posted December 15, 2014 Posted December 15, 2014 What really cost us the win was the absolute duds in our tail. For future I would say we should play Ashwin and Bhuvi regardless. Ashwin contributes 50+ runs each test match on average whereas Bhuvi also contributes with the runs. They are clearly upgrades o nShami and Sharma (or whoever else) as bowling wise they are pretty similar and are not walking wickets with the bat. Also Dhoni needs to be back in the team ASAP and is part of the test team on merit. Even if Kohli becomes the captain in the future,, Dhoni is a must in the team. He wouldn't have played the brainless Afridi- type slog in such a crucial juncture and missed the line of the ball and gotten out. Infact he contributed a lot with the bat in England.. As far as captaincy is concerned, Kohli was nothing special. He gave a special performance but captaincy was worse than Dhoni. His awesome batting performances should not be used to make a case for captaincy in test cricket. iN SHORT FOR NEXT TEST: Ashwin for Karn Bhuvi for Shami if fit. Dhoni back

Ishant should be sent last in batting, wtf was he doing last test? Its not just the tail's fault, the batsmen dont shield them. Guys like saha and rohit just give them strike, like wtf. Dhoni does the same. Even bhuvi had more maturity. They need to play like they are the last wicket.
