We are all here blaming our bowlers for their epic failure in Australia, But for me the main culprits are the selectors and team-mangement for their sheer-ineptitude when it comes to manage our bowling. Now I am giving few glaring instances of that- 1)In ODI series in SouthAfrica, Bhuvi and Mohit Sharma got smashed in 1st ODI, even Shami gone for runs in that series, the one who got success was - Ishant sharma at centurion with figures 4/40 in 10 overs. It was evident that you need 'tall' bowlers on harder surfaces. Ishwar Pandey- a 6'4'' guy with a terrific outswinger, was there in the ODI squad in Newzealand, but he wasnt given a single chance. Now the question is when we can give a chance to an innocuous 120ks trundler like Unadkat that too in a test match against southafrica, why can't we give a chance to talented tall bowler like Ishwar pandey in ODIs that too in a Dead rubber, knowing that he can be handful on hard surfaces. 2) If you see past two years, our trend in odis, Bhuvi and Shami has to feature in every fricking ODIs. Doesn't matter whom we are playing against, doesn't matter even it is a dead rubber but they have to play! Does the selectors or team-management every realised how much workload these bowler have to carry. Not only that, playing too much LOIs can effect one's rhythm, the reason why Shami is bowling a boundary ball every over. Now it is evident that Shami has a poor runup which is affecting him, but when he is going rectify it, if he is going to play 24X7. How can one expect Bhuvi to increase his pace, if he has to play 24X7. 3) Look at Australia, how many new fast bowlers debuted in ODIs recently- sandhu, Hazlewood, sean abbot, Kane Richardson,Ben cutting and the list is perhaps never ending. And we have, the same daily-soap of Bhuvi and Shami, when we are actually depend on batting to win in ODIs Why it never occured to our selectors to give Pankaj Singh a chance in ODIs? He can maintain a pace of 135+ ks for 10 over for sure (we have seen it in tests in England) With 6'6'' tall frame, he can generate enoromous bounce in Australia. Why they never selected Ishwar pandey again? Now we have a 'midget' attack in Australia, with an exception of Ishant Sharma. Whom we should blame for that? 4)Remember 2012 CB series? 1st ODI at MCG? Ashwin got smashed like a club bowler,gone for 48 runs in 5 overs @9.60. Where as that tall Lanky legspinner-Rahul Sharma troubled the Australian with the bounce he generated. He gone for @6.94 per over and took 1 wicket, but look at the number of chances he created-

18.1 R Sharma to Wade, 1 run, sharp, quick one fired in on middle and leg, he gets a lot of bounce and gets a leading edge on the off side 18.4 R Sharma to MEK Hussey, no run, beats him outside off with a quick one that goes across with the angle 20.4 R Sharma to Wade, no run, beaten as he looks to make room for the cut, but the bounce is too much 22.6 R Sharma to Wade, OUT, inside-edged on to the stumps, Wade was getting beaten on the cut by the quick deliveries, he looked to open up and pull this time, the ball was not short enough, and he plays on, fantastic innings on ODI debut though 24.5 R Sharma to DJ Hussey, no run, just past the off stump, oh, was that close, flat and quick delivery, slightly short, and he shaped up to pull, but was beaten as it straightened with pace

But Do you know what happened after that match? Rahul sharma was never selected in the playing XI again in that series, while Ashwin got chances after chances.The sheer Nepotism shown by Dhoni and Team management consumed another talented bowler. Even now Rahul sharma stats are better than AShwin, but where is he? Now we are in world cup with a tired, clueless, midget pace attack(except Ishant) who can do nothing with bounce on offer, and with spinners who are equally imbecile. But who is actually to be blamed for that?

The kookaburra ball used in aus doesn't swing as much and hence bowlers like bhuvi became handicapped over there.Even one of the best swing and seam bowler like anderson struggled over there than what can we expect of bhuvi.

You are overlooking the point of the OP. All great points by the way. Our team management and selectors have a very narrow point of view. 3 year ago...in their humble opinion they decided that these are the bowlers that will do the job in the WC. So they closed the gate for the rest. Didn't even try out the other to see if there is a better option available outside (because if yes..then the same management and selectors look stupid). We all blame that our cupboard is empty...that's because we don't give chance to others. The same sets of bowlers have been playing more or less in the last 2 years for us. Have not done anything specially on more helpful wickets. Could have loved to see maybe 4 more bowlers given some games in this last 2 years to see where all stand.
