Not really, but a SR of 78 is too damn low in today's cricket. What'd you prefer? A batsman scoring 42 at 5.22 rpo or a batmsan scoring 44 at 4.68?

Every batsman needs a Misbah/Amla/Sangakarra type player - one who builds up the innings however slowly. And Clarke is that guy for Australia. Also Bailey's average doesn't matter. He is in abysmal form.

Clarke for Bailey and Faulkner for one of the bowlers. On these flat decks Aus can concede 280+, their bowling isn't that hostile tbh. Yet to see em bowl first and wreck a side thats not India. With Faulkner at #8 they'll simply be unbeatable when chasing

I think at full strength their side would look something like this. Warner Finch Smith Clarke Maxwell M.Marsh Haddin Faulkner Johnson Starc Hazelwood/Cummins Watson and Bailey would be the unlucky ones. I don't think George Bailey is batting to badly at the moment though. I just think that Mitch Marsh and Glenn Maxwell are batting better.

Dey have you even read what I quoted? The guy said Clarke scores faster than Bailey. Plus he scored a 50 when the going was tough for Aus, a crucial knock. Hard to say based on that he was out of form, or that he cannot play an anchor role. Plus he ain't coming off an injury layoff unlike Clarke. We saw what long layoffs could do. So no thanks, Bailey is so superior a pick to Clarke.

WTF is up with this stats crap. Every guy brings a sheet all the time like a bot. Fact is Bailey is not in form - he is the weakest link for AUS batting other than Watson right now. He is also only in the team now because he is the captain as the bench strength of AUS is strong. So Clarke will walk in easily as his form has been pretty good even with injuries. Plus recently - his SR has been around 90 for games where he scores over 30 runs or so. Plus, with Clarke in the side - opposition will be super scared - look at the line up. Damn other than AUS bowling which is a little weak I think as they lack a good spinner - their batting is damn good easily the best among all teams with clarke and faulker in.

Faulkner has to get in. He can do a lot more like what SA are doing with Miller giving him more time and expecting him to score 100s. Like Faulkner he also was previously used as a basher.
