Rohip
but the problem is you see we will never be Australia if we are afraid of losing Exactly, before the mid 90's even Australia wasn't Australia. They only became 'Australia' because they took risks because they were aggressive and because they werent scared of any team or any result To be the best you have to be prepared to lose, if you dont fear losing then you always play to win and that's Australia's secret Should we all wear bangles? Why are we so afraid to lose a game that it would take a miracle and the breaking of records for Pakistan to win? We are the better team, they should fear us but to listen to all of you we even fear them when we have them on their knees With attitudes like yours, no wonder we aren't Australia. Link to comment

fineleg
The title of this "Lets be Aussie about this" is like Sreesanth speaking in an interview - he will glare and be "Aussie abt aggression" but when you dont have bowling that great to back you up, SS must work on that first. Similarly just coz we say "Lets be Aussie" and attack with a smaller total... Link to comment
varun
I'm for it too.. Lets go get 'em ! Link to comment
Bumper
All this aggression is great, but where are you gonna muster up the aggression from the pitch ? If its slow, low and dead as a dodo, so will be the game. Showing the kinda aggro that you want us to show (by declaring as it stands), would be foolhardy. I'd do this kind of thing, if we are 0-1 down in a series and playing the last test and we've to do whatever it takes to force a result. But not right now! Link to comment
Rohip
They've always had a club level batting line up and it was their bowlers that pulled them through. On a fifth day pitch they will struggle to reach tea let alone cross 220!! What did I tell you? We should've declared overnight Link to comment
Chandan
What do you mean declare overnight?, If you could get just the 4 men out in 81 overs, will you get all 10 in 90? It is absolutely stupid to think that we are Australia. Did you see how they played the ODIs and how we were tryinhg to just do the catch-up game? And then compare the ODI series between India and Pakistan. Those two series were absolutely poles apart. Australia don't win just because of aggression, they have ability to back that aggression up too. Link to comment
fineleg
Glen McG gives press interviews abt getting ppl out, and for the most part does it. Sreesanth also gives press interviews.... There is a difference in how well you follow up on what you blah blah to press or to opposition. You gotta get the wickets and make some batsmen your bunny if you act aggressive. Ability to act on the aggression needs to be there first. Link to comment
Rohip
What do you mean declare overnight?' date=' If you could get just the 4 men out in 81 overs, will you get all 10 in 90? Therefore inducing risky strokes and quick wickets. On top of that they'd have batted on a fresh pitch against a new ball and that was worth the wickets of two set batsmen as we saw with India. Given Pakistans openers, we could have had them 3 or 4 down by lunch. Taking wickets is about taking risks and winning games is about being daring. Wouldnt surprise me if they level the series at Bangalore and make it another 20 years before we beat them at home if this will be our attitude. Link to comment
