Who says test matches are monotonous? Those who are still termagant about this should hibernate into the ground till the end as it's the right time for them to do so . Remember, test cricket is the concentrated state of willow game that remains stainless though many forms have been evolved ever since it's birth. On top of that when it's played between India and Pakistan , it has its own fascinating pulchritude that could even ostracize the "Ashes". In this form of the game, experts are punctilious about each player's technique and flair and never mind to examine everyone's class under the microscope. Thanks to the vociferous crowd who are turning in large numbers to witness the events these days. Let's have a glimpse on the gist of 1st 5 day encounter between India and Pakistan that culminated in India's favour. Pakistan managed to put on 231 on the board spurred by the valiant knock of Misbah, well supported by Sami after crawling on 142 for 8 in their first innings. Misbah ran out in a bizarre manner he himself would laugh later on while reminiscing history. In reply Team India rode on Laxman and Dhoni's doughty attempt to post 276 on card . In their 2nd outing Pakistan kicked off well in the beginning with Salman butt and Yaseer Hamid's opening stand. Just when the pair looked menacing, Jumbo, the newly appointed India skipper provided India the first blood. He went on to lead from the front and with prudent support from Bhajji, sent 5 opponent batsmen to the dressing room at the end of day 3. Zaheer Khan removed Kamran Akmal very early on Day 4 followed by Sohail Tanvir. Once again Kumble's gut feeling came into picture when he showed faith in Ganguly with the new ball. Ganguly achieved two scalps in the same over and Pakistan folded on 247, setting a meager target of 203 for India to clinch the match. Karthik's demise came on India's total of 2 on the scoreboard in the hands of furious fast bowler Sohaib Akthar. Wasim Jaffer didn't let Team India down this time and lodged 82 runs in tandem with Rahul Dravid. He also completed his half century and got out by a superb catch by Salman Butt at forward square leg. Sohaib Akthar cracked the defense of Rahul Dravid and uprooted his leg stump in a perfect in-dipper. At that time India were 93 for 3 with Sachin Tendulkar and Ganguly at the crease. Akthar made every attempt to dent Sachin's skill and Sachin negotiated extremely well with his own class. On couple of occasions, he bowled at around 150 Km/hours, questioning Sachin to behave with in one third of the least count of a clock with a second hand. Tendulkar rose to occasion and negotiated with his straight batting stick. These were some of the moments to watch and cherish later on why Sachin is such a great legend, armoured with unparalleled eye sight that is as sharp as the edge of a sword. Ganguly at the other end played his natural strokes and fell just at the brink of India's win. Laxman joined Sachin to complete the official formalities to wrap up the match. Sachin cashed in his 46th half century and finished in style with an elegant square cut off Akthar. One main point to mention here is that Sachin yet conquered another feat in test cricket by surpassing Allan Border's record of 2 nd highest number of runs. He is now just behind Lara in test cricket history, which seems to broken very soon. After serving Indian cricket, more I can enunciate world cricket selflessly, dominating all bowlers around the globe for more that 18 years at the top, still some are questioning his approach . Those who indulge in such things need Sachin to achieve what they never dreamt of. It's only Sachin who plays and it's all those who earns their bread and butter by making his game a business. God, quarantine him in your lap so that he could be out of reach of everyone. Overall "Nothing succeeds like Success" and Sachin's feats are all about that. With that I remain silent and stop spamming your mail boxes. Hope to receive your precious suggestions to fabricate future articles more delectable. Putting my pen down for now. Seeing you very soon. Many Thanks. Sudhansu sekhar, a SACHINist, who propagates SACHINism. Well written Sudhanshu. But still you can't stop people from passing their judgement, isn't it? I'll be quite glad if you write articles on India's performance in India but they'll have to be, say, the summary of the day's play, that very day or on our bowlers' performance on that day or batsman's performance. Will you do this?
