BCCI is fighting the case against these reforms not against fixing or betting. Betting and fixing thing has already been dealt with. CSK and RR ousted. Srinivasan and Meiyypan also out. Charges against Sreesanth, Chavan, Chandila have already been dropped by Court. So, fixing couldn't be proved in the court.

Really? So its lawyers were not there when case was presented for fixing? How did SC come up Lodha committee which would look after restructuring and reforming BCCI? What was the need? BCCI was not involved afterall. Where and how did BCCI come into picture?

Supreme court came up with Lodha committee because it wanted to.It has powers to do so,o it did.No one asked them to. The case filed before it was regarding Srinivasan and his conflict of interest and to investigate impartially into the involvement of CSK and RR owners into any betting.

The Mudgal committee accuses no one of match fixing.Go read it.It says that Meiyappan and Kundra were guilty of betting.Lodha committee was formed to suggest the quantum of punishment for those guilty in the Mudgal report. The Lodha committee

Then the SC decided that they needed to reform the BCCI and asked the Lodha committee to suggest those reforms. The result is this report that seeks to destroy Indian cricket.Turn it into another poor, pathetic, weak, beggar like sporting body, likes of which are dime a dozen in the country today.

Shashank Manohar a very senior lawyer himself has explained the 5 recommedations the BCCI has said they cannot implement.

It is not the job of SC to run cricket.

And Chandan you are highly confused, please read the whole saga from 2013 to get the idea.

Please show one report that says XYZ was guilty of fixing and that BCCI did this ABC thing illegally. The case was only for Srini COI and spot fixing and betting,SC by itself started the Lodha Committee and reforming the BCCI and they have even accepted so.

drawing the court's attention to the similar state of affairs in other sports bodies like badminton, kabbadi and table tennis. The bench said, "We have not shut our door for reforms in those associations. But cricket has altogether a different dimension in India. That is why we took up the issue and entrusted Justice R M Lodha panel to suggest reforms."

Datar said the court started with betting and spot-fixing in IPL 2013 but had now gone into reforms in the entire structure. "This is like a doctor detecting a tumour in a body and then, while removing it, slashing and bruising the entire body," he said.

The bench was caustic in its response. "Spot-fixing and betting were only symptoms of a dreaded disease deep inside the BCCI. That is why the Lodha panel was set up to diagnose the disease and suggest remedial measures. It has now suggested remedial measures," it said.

Read and then tell me how will stopping ADs,putting age limit etc stop fixing and betting or anything for that matter?

The SC just wants to stay in the limelight.Thats it.

Reliance distributed electricity in 2014 and CAG audited it, is still doing for it in 2016.

Have all these orgs been involved in huge scams like BCCI was since 2013 because of which SC was involved?

Or you think SC has a love relation with BCCI?

I can't discuss much with you on this as you simply forget why SC got involved with BCCI affairs and why was Lodha commottee formed!

There is one thing called Audit and another thing called putting a person on the board.

The BCCI was not found guilty of any wrong doing.Find me one report that says BCCI was found doing this illegal thing. The President of BCCI was found guilty of COI and removed. The SC even punished the two teams involved in betting. The 3 players accused of fixing were found innocent by the court.

This saga is not over. The real truth behind the PIL by Aditya Kumar is out.Subramanium Swamy has filed a caveat in the supreme court about how Lalit Modi.Manohar andPawar financed this move againist Srini.

Make no mistake. The SC did a good job till it was doing the job its supposed to do,adjudicating of a dispute(Srini COI) and punishing the guilty who were being protected by Srini(CSK and RR suspended),but to now tell who should be BCCI President, who should be selector, how to conduct commercial activity, etc etc.

The recent ordinance by the Central Govt to delay the SC ordered NEET is just the beginning. It is to tell the SC not to try and run the country and step on everyone's feet.More will be coming if SC decides to try and run the country by decree.

SC wants to stay in limelight, for what?

Is it a movie star or politician that it needs attention or publicity?

You yourself agree that it did a good job at many places. In reforms too, 50+% have been implemented. The board should realise that it should NEVER go on board and take up the screen space while an over is being bowled. For a long time they have made the the views suffer with those L shaped and D shaped ads.

Had those ads not been there. I'm sure thise no ad reform also would not have been there on Lodha list.

Its just that BCCI lawyer will have to convince they won't go overboard. If they fail to do so, they are doomed.

I'm not at all confused. I know each and every saga from 2013 and even gave it for other to read too, on page 1 of this thread.

Lodha Panel was not formed because SC has a love affair with BCCI.

BCCI structure failed to convince that such a won't/can't be repeated in future with their present structure and hence the thought of restructuring in SC.

I fail to understand why do you people have problem with a more professional BCCI?

@ Chandan, your arguments are spot on and with facts, BCCI is a public body doing public functions they are also representing India and using Indian flags, Lodha committee was formed to look in to why the match fixing and batting was happening and suggest measures to fix it and it has rightly suggested measures to fix BCCI's working which is working very unprofessional manner with lot is corruption, no accountability, groupism, Political interference, conflict of interest etc and many more, list goes on and on due to all these non-professional conduct it has led to the IPL match fixing and President's conflict of interest charge, they may have removed President and banned franchise but it will not fix the problem from reoccurring it has to be cleaned comprehensively.

@ RKT and Malcolm you arguments are futile every one knows that for so many years BCCI has run the cricket in shoddy manner you may argue that we have won so many tournaments and IPL and Stadiums and etc however these does not mean that they can not be left hands free, please welcome this developments don't be like those over smart journalist (ie Burkha, Rajdeep) who challenges every development good or bad, look at the larger picture if these suggestions do get implemented they will set precedent for so many other future improvements not just in Sports but other organization also.
