Because he kicks ass, im guessing he had such a high rating(ur rating depreciates if you havnt played, im not too sure of the math behind it however) that he still hasnt slipped off the list despite the depreciation.

Shane Bond should have agreed to play in IPL.... look at shameless YoYo...he is not even adding any value to international cricket anymore.. But in Bond..we lost a jewel from the crown...

I don't understand one thing - How come Bond is #3 when he no more plays for his country ? Shudn't he be taken out of the list ? :dontknow:

Players are taken off the list when they retire. Bond May still play for NZ, down the track. In the meantime, he is losing rating points every time NZ playes without him, in the same way as Ponting, SRT and Hayden are. From Cricinfo: "However, frequent injuries interrupted Bond's career and the fast bowler joined the lucrative Indian Cricket League in 2008. The New Zealand board reacted to this move by terminating Bond's national contract although they did not rule out the possibility of his return."
