Re: Chappell, Sehwag had a row in South Africa Nothing wrong with it :wall: Its this kind of cr#p attitude that stops us being the best. How about sehwag just concentrates on traing dammn hard and scoring some runs. Players should be motivated by personal pride and nothing else. Look at the aussies most of them hate buchanan but they still train and play at 100%. Sehwag should also concentrate on losing 5 stone as well. He should be dropped for 1 year to realsie he needs to sort himself out. This will be for his own good.

Re: Chappell, Sehwag had a row in South Africa No player is bigger than the team. Sehwag has no business being upset or showing his anger at the management because his fav player (Ganguly) was out of the squad. If thats the case, he's a bad influence & doesnt deserve any of our sympathies. Calling your coach to show up at 6:30 & not showing up yourself, reeks of arrogance & indiscipline, (esp, when he is in the middle of a big form slump), which only a village idiot like sehwag is capable of. Show me a player who wasnt hurt in his cricketing career ? Thats no excuse for indiscipline.

All i am saying is, Chappell is made the villain everytime some negative report comes from teams locker room. First the whole ganguly episode, if you think about it all chappell did was say what everyone was thinking but he was made the villain. Then incident involving yuvraj and now sehwag. He was never given any credit for our ODI success, win at WI or even the first test win at SA but first to be blamed for all loses. This whole argument that he is only after money, i say whats wrong. Look at Sachin and saurav both are already super rich yet you keep hearing about the deals they are signing. India players get complacent noone can deny that. Chappell is trying to get players out of that mentality so whats wrong. On the other hand maybe he has some hidden agenda like destroying Indian team so that they cannot replace aussies as no1 or he was hired on the condition that he will remove ganguly so that powar could become president and dalmiya is out. Maybe he wants to make enough money to buy his own country.
Good post, there is a lot of truth in what u say. However the bottomline is RESULTS. Chappell hasnt done well as a coach overall. Its impossible to do anything significant in India without being political. Chappell learnt it quickly and resorted to the same politics that Ganguly did to stay in the team, to keep him out of the team. It turned out to be both good & bad. We lost too many games fiddling with our youth, but have Ganguly & Zaheer back now with more hunger & a stomach for a fight.
