Deleted_User_1
http://specials.rediff.com/cricket/2006/nov/27sld3.htm I guess the recent slump makes it look worse, but people's expectation of Chappell is much higher which is justified. He talked a lot of sh*t upon taking the job. I do not think he is a good motivator. Link to comment
Zap_Brannigan
Re: Apparently not much difference between Chappell and Wright India will always have tht 50% success ratio.....During the wright period,we rarely dominated any series(WC is the only one tht comes to mind)..But under chapell we dominated 3 series and have been at the receiving end for 3... But the real reason is tht under wright Sachin,Dravid and gangs were so good and carried yuvi, kaif and sehwag while under chapell it was dhoni, pathan, sachin and dravid tht carried the others.....when these guys fail,we hardly win anything.. The reason tht we still have only a 50% winning rate is cos we always have a few passengers in the side. Link to comment
The Outsider
Re: Apparently not much difference between Chappell and Wright We've always had an average team tests or ODIs barring a season or two of brilliance when everything has fallen in place. The surge last year genuinely led me to believe that since we are winning so consistently maybe we can carry on even when the key players have a slump because the paseengers might step up. No such luck though. Link to comment
